Owner and founder of MHTR, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional -II, and Certified Brainspotting Practitioner. With previous work on an Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, and crisis intervention, I quickly developed a deep passion for treating trauma, and knew this was only the beginning of my journey into Trauma- Focused work. I continued to work toward mastering trauma sensitive approaches in my practice to be able to provide quality and comprehensive trauma services.
With a trauma informed lens, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, strengths and somatic based approaches in my work with clients. I specialize in working with first responders both active and retired, as well as clients who have experiences of trauma in any of its forms, treating PTSD, Anxiety/Depression, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and many other mental health challenges. I help to guide my patients as they process through traumatic events in a safe space, and help them to gain a deep understanding of trauma, and how it affects mind and body. Together we develop individualize skills to achieve and maintain homeostasis using a wide range of clinical, neurobiological and holistic wellness approaches.
Having strong attunement, and a deep therapeutic connection with my patients will forever humble me. I am honored to be on this journey with all of you.

Rachel Shasho MSW, LCSW
I'm a licensed clinical social worker and an attachment-based, trauma-informed therapist. I received my master's degree from Wurzweiler School of Social Work with a focus on treating children from underprivileged homes and providing family interventions. In the past, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults using a trauma-based approach. Specifically, assisting clients to overcome emotional neglect, sexual abuse, and relationship struggles.
I specialize in treating chronic PTSD, relationship struggles, anxiety, and depression. Throughout the session, we will explore different modalities such as CBT, IFS, and somatic experience. These modalities help soothe the nervous system and heal attachment patterns and negative subconscious beliefs. Additionally, I will guide you through your thoughts and feelings to gain clarity about yourself so you can make wise decisions in your personal life and your relationships.
Most importantly, I will empower you to find your inner strength so that you can create the life that you desire. Each one of us possesses an array of innate qualities that guide us in our lives to help us overcome our biggest struggles. Throughout the session, I will help you build self-awareness and self-esteem, along with the hope that you can break through all the barriers that are holding you back. Building a deep connection to the self and understanding our core wounds isn't always easy, but they allow us to heal, grow, and reach our full potential. You most certainly don't have to go through this alone. I will provide a safe, attuned, and comforting space to support you and help you process your unique struggles. I firmly believe that communication, even when it is difficult is one of the best ways to heal. It takes courage to uncover the depths of your true self. Congratulations on taking the first step!
